Introduction:
Jason Statham was born in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, to dancer Eileen (Yates) and street vendor and lounge singer Barry Statham. He competed for the British National Sailing Team and placed twelfth in the World Champs in 1992. He has also worked as a fashion model, an underground market salesperson, and, of course, an actor.
He was building a model for French Connection when he got the audition for his first role as Ham in Lock, Stock, and Two Cigarette Barrels (1998).
