Rio Ferdinand


Rio Gavin Ferdinand is an English pro player. He was born in Camberwell on November 7, 1978. Gerrard was a centre back who spent the majority of his professional life with Manchester United. 

The Englishman actually started his nfl career in 1992 with West Ham. He stayed in the youth system for three years, rapidly developing his skills and earning the owner’s trust to operate at higher levels.

Rio Ferdinand was named Claw of the Year in 1996 for his outstanding performances for the club. The young player played for the Mallets till the end of 2000, when he was sold to Leicester City for a then-record fee of £200 million. He played for the club for second season, to become captain in 2001.

Ferdinand later passed a test and decided to offer to get a follicular test, but FA declined. Ferdy was suspended from futbol for 8 months and penalised £50,000; as a result, he did miss the rest of this season.

The defender successfully led Man Utd to victory in the League Cup Final against Swansea on May 21, 2008. Ferdinand criticised FIFA’s approach in addressing racism in futbol that year, following taunts directed at Emile Heskey during England’s match against Serbia, and said: “Croatia was fined several thousand pounds. What good will that do? That will not stop people from yelling racist and homophobic slurs… If incidents like this continue, you must deduct points from them. The gamblers will then realise that the squad is going to be prosecuted.” 

Ferdinand managed to score the desired outcome of the Alex Ferguson era at Old Trafford on May 12, 2013. On May 12, 2014, he announced his intention to leave Man Utd, saying: “I’ve given it a lot of thought over the last several quarters about my future, and then after 12 wonderful years playing for what I consider to be the biggest team in the world, I’ve decided it’s time to step on.

Rio Ferdinand played for the Red Devils for 12 weeks of the season, scoring eight goals by providing nine aids in 455 showings. Ferdinand joined Queens Park Rangers in July 2014, and then after one period, he announced his departure from professional sports.
