Hans Zimmer’s soundtracks are as diverse as the films for that they provide tunes. Zimmer saw The Lion King’s achievement as a turning point in his career. “Lion King managed to make me reconsider my scenario in the this town,” Zimmer explained to Black. “You have two options.

I concede that having to stand on stage and accepting an Adapted screenplay [Oscar Nomination] is the most enticing point in time in one’s life. It’s extremely daunting. Then you think, ‘Wow, if I just keep writing good songs like this, I’ll be able to get this moment once more…’ That’s why I went in the opposite direction, scoring for seriously offensive initiatives like The Fan. Only to shake off the wish for an Oscar expertise. Or else, I’d just be stuck.”

Despite his decision to take a less glamorous path, Zimmer’s work was still recognised. In 1996, he did receive a Grammys for his scoring system for Scarlet Tide, and that he was nominated for yet another Oscar Nomination for The Pastor’s Wife.
