Introduction: 

Paul Ritter, a flexible actor, was born Simon Peter Adams on December 20, 1966, in Lowestoft, Kent.

While he did not come from a showbiz family, his mom was a school friend of comic actor Richard Cribbins, and his father went to the same school as the professional entertainer and writer Eric Steele, whom Paul would play in the Television show ‘Tommy Cooper: Not Just Like, Like This.’ Continuing to work with the Theater in ‘The Aristocratic Hunt of the Sun,’ ‘All My Brothers,’ ‘Coram Boy,’ ‘The Hot-House,’ ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time,’ and more recently, he amassed an enviable roster of stage roles in the last decades of the 20th century and the starting of the 2000s. 

Paul Ritter appeared in several quintessential plays for the Shakespeare Festival, including ‘Troilus and Criseyde’ and ‘The White Devil,’ and he was shortlisted for an Award nomination in 2009, along with founder Amanda Rhizome, Jessica Hynes, and Stephen Mangan, whenever the Old Vic’s revival of ‘The Norman Conquests’ played on Broad street.

In the 2nd years of the twenty century, he has become one of television’s most pleasant and pervasive actors, playing roles as diverse as a Scots vicar in ‘Pmma and Lucia,’ a mother-dominated gay spy in ‘The Game,’ a police officer in ‘Vera’ and ‘No Offence,’ and Handgun in the BBC’s adaptation of ‘Henry IV,’ for which the Telegraph daily paper described john as ‘an actor destined. 

However, he was undoubtedly famous for playing quirky, usually shirtless Martin Goodman in the Television network sitcom of the same name, who hosted his ‘bambinos’ for one’s ‘Friday Night Dinner.’ Paul, who had a brain tumor, died peacefully at home, surrounded by friends and family, on April 5, 2021, at the age of 54. 

Paul Ritter was an English actress best known for starring as the idiosyncratic patriarch Martin Hamm in the Television network tv comedy Friday Night Dinner (2011-2020) and the atomic factory’s sick former deputy engineer – Anatoly Dyatlov – in the HBO-Sky historical epic television series Nuclear accident (2019).

The multi-talented actor is also known for starring as the lengthy wizard Eldred Worple in the sixth installment of the Film Series, Harry Potter, the ½ Lord, and as a sly political consultant Guy Giles in the James Bond film Number of units of Solace. Ritter was another well-known face in Theater, appearing in several films such as Troilus and Cressida, The Viewing public, and Art. 

His performance in the Royal Free Cinema’s manufacturing of Coram Boy earned him an Oliver Peabody award, and his performance in the Old Vic’s Remake of The Norman Empires trilogy earned him an Anthony Peabody award. Other notable works by him include the tv show Vera and No Offense and the miniseries High Hopes and The Empty Crown. 

Paul Ritter started his professional with minor roles on stage and television. Snoo Johnson’s play Newton’s Flood was one of his early-stage works (1994). He quickly began working for the Shakespeare Festival and the Royal Theatre.

He worked on numerous traditional plays for the former, including Troilus and Cressida and The Pale Devil (1996). He appeared in All My Brothers (2000), The Coast of Utopia (2002), Coram Boy (2005-2006), The Royal Hunt of the Sun (2006), and The Curious Event of the Dog in the Night-Time (2007) for either (2012). 

He received a Tony nominee for his performance as Reg, a laid-back real estate agent, in the Ancient Vic’s Broadway production of Alan Ayckbourn’s The Norman Conquests trilogy in 2009. In 2013, he played former UK Prime Minister John Major in the West End production of the royal drama The Audience. His most recent stage appearance was in the 2016 revival of Craftsmanship at the Old Vic.

Personal Life of the Paul Ritter 

His film career began in 1992 with the tv show The Bill. However, his first regular television role came 15 years ago, in 2007, with the comedy series City Lights, in which he played mobster Scott Sweeny.

Following that, he appeared in numerous other tv shows as various characters. He played a farm palm in Land Girls (2011), an irreverent medical examiner in Vera (2011-2013), a forensic expert again in No Offence (2015-2018), the CEO of a Corporate body in Emotional Baggage (2018), and the eccentric father of a London Jewish parents in Friday Night Dinner (2011-2020).

Paul Ritter’s achievement as Martin Goodman in the previous series was impressive, and he gained a lot of fame as a result.

Miniseries and t.v movies are also among his television credits. In 2011, he played the role of Commonly in the form, a lawful clerk in the television series High Hopes, and the very next year, he played Pistol in another miniseries, The Hollow Crown.

In the 6 Cold War spy sequence The Game, he portrayed the sinister intelligence officer Jim Waterhouse. In the 2019 Irish War of Autonomy drama miniseries Opposition, he played London Castle’s intelligence leader.

In the same year, he started playing Anatoly Dyatlov, the sick nuclear plant engineer, in the Golden Globe and Academy award HBO-Sky history theatre miniseries Chernobyl. In 2020, he played Turton in another chronological drama limited series, Belgravia. 

In 2014 and 2015, he depicted two individual characters in Tommy Cooper: Not Like That, Like This, and We’re Fated! The Story of My Father’s Army. He played comedy actor Eric Sykes in the latter’s erstwhile and comedy writer Jimmy Perry. 

His feature film career started in 1999 when he appeared as a supporting actor in Greenwich Meantime. He worked on several film projects, including the spy film Entanglement of Solace (2008) and the fantasy movie Harry Potter and the ½ King (2009).

Paul Ritter was birthed Simon Paul Adams on Dec. 20, 1966, in Lowestoft, Kent, England. He is the younger son of Kenny and Joan Adams, who also have four older sisters. His dad worked as a fitter and miller in power plants, and his mother was a teacher’s aide.

He was drawn to acting early and graduated from Gravesend Grammar School with an A-Level in Theatre Studies. He studied Contemporary and Medieval Langauge at St Jim’s College, Oxford. He then spent a year at Hamburg’s German Theater. When he returned, he adopted a new name – Paul Ritter. 

His performance in the Royal Theatre’s production of Unum Boy earned him an Oliver Award nomination. His performance in the Old Vic’s Broadway revival of The Norman Conquests series earned him an Anthony Award nomination.
