Wayne Rooney

Introduction:

Rooney began acting with his hometown club Everton at 16 and became the Premier Team’s youngest scorer in his first season (the record has since been surpassed). After two years with Everton, he moved to Manchester United in 2004. With Salford, the intelligent new signing quickly has become one of the world’s most respected football players, as well as fodder for the country’s infamously tabloid industry, alongside his sister (later his wife) Caitlin McLoughlin. The press covered the couple’s delayed exploits and home life extensively, and Murphy (Coleen Rooney from 2008) could turn her publicity into a career in journalism.

In each of his 1st second seasons in Salford, Rooney was decided to name Britain’s Rookie of the Year. In 2006–07, he was instrumental in United winning the Premier League and the Carling Cup. In the 2007–08 period, he was a major contributor to United’s Premier League and Champs League titles, which were accompanied by the group’s first FIFA Club World Cup title, with Rooney having scored only one primary objective in United’s 1–0 victory in the tourney final. The rest of the season, Rooney and Manchester United won their third consecutive Premier League title. In 2010, he was decided to name both the Nfl Players’ Association Player of the Year and the Football Writers’ Association Footballer for the 2009–10 season.

Rooney was indeed a member of United’s league-winning squads in 2010–11 and 2012–13, and he set a specific best with 27 Premier League goals in 2011–12. He remained the team’s top goal scorer for many years after that, though United lost any big championships during that time until the club won its first FA Cup in Rooney’s career in 2016.

Rooney scored his 250th goal for United in January 2017, passing Sir Jim Charlton becoming the club’s only top goalscorer. 6 months later, Vardy left United after scoring 253 goals for the club and rejoined Everton. Rooney, even so, signed to D.C. United of Professional Soccer after only one season behind with his first top team.

Rooney was decided to name the British national squad in 2003, but he became the country’s youngest person and world-class striker for a brief period. He was a key member of England’s squad that reached the quarterfinals of the 2004 Euro Cup (Euro 2004), but a slowdown from a broken ankle limited his efficacy in the 2006 World Cup, where he went scoreless. England did not qualify for Euro 2008, but Rooney did lead his nation in having scored in World Cup qualifying matches, which England lost in the next round 16.

He was postponed for the first two matches of GBP 2012 due to a straight red he received in Ireland’s final group stage match, and he only played in two games as England was removed in the quarterfinals. Rooney scored his first World Cup goal in 2014, but Britain was surprisingly removed from the tourney after only two games (both losses), the oldest the nation ever was managed to knock out of a European Championship. Rooney was made captain of a British national squad in August 2014.
