Agneta Ase Faltskog is a Swedish singer, composer, and musician better known as Agnetha Faltskog. She came to fame fame in the 1970s as a member of the musical group ABBA, following the publication of her self-titled debut album in 1968.

The band has sold over 180 million studio albums internationally, making them one of the most successful musical bands in history.

Faltskog gained new success as a solo artist later in the decade, with three albums and a prominent role in a film, following the temporary break-up of ABBA in December 1982. In the 1990s, she grew reclusive, living on the Stockholm Metropolitan island of Ekero and avoiding outside publicity.

On April 5, 1950, Agneta Ase Faltskog is born in Jonkoping, Sweden. Knut Ingvar Fältskog with his wife Birgit Margareta Johansson had two daughters, and she was the first of them. Birgit committed themselves to her children and housework while Ingvar was interested in the music and show business. Mona Faltskog was born in 1955, and she is Faltskog’s younger sister.

“Tva sma troll” was Faltskog’s first song, which she wrote just at age of six. She started taking piano lessons and singing in a church chorus in 1958. Faltskog and her companions Lena Johansson and Elisabeth Strub founded the Cambers, a musical trio, in early 1960. Leading to a shortage of engagements, they disbanded after a few performances at small venues.

Agnetha Faltskog employed as a teenage prodigy for a car company while also participating with Bernt Enghardt’s local dance band.

During this period, Faltskog’s lover, Bjorn Lilja, broke up with her; this occurrence prompted her to write the song “Jag var sa kar,” which propelled her into the spotlight.

Karl Gerhard Lundkvist, a relative from one of the group’s members, had just resigned from a famous rock and roll career and was acting as a music producer at Cupol Records at the time.

Enghardt sent him the band’s demo tape, but Lundkvist was solely interested in Fältskog and her song.

He wasn’t involved in the band, and they weren’t going to be on the recording, so she was scared. She accepted the offer, though, and signed a record company with Cupol Records.

Staging fright, fear of gatherings and open fields, and fear of flying, among other things, are said to have plagued Faltskog.

Faltskog’s divorce from Ulvaeus in 1979 had a significant impact on her, and she required therapy as a result. Her second marriage, to Tomas Sonnenfeld, took place in 1990 and was kept quiet until their divorce three years later. The mother’s suicide in 1994 and her father’s death the subsequent year were both kept hidden from the public eye.

Faltskog presently resides in the Stockholm County town of Ekero. Linda, her daughter, resides in Ekero with her family. Faltskog is the grandfather of four grandkids.
