[from The Misgivings of Mr Whicher: The Killing in Angel Lane (2013)] I agreed to do it before even reading the script even though Paddy [Paddy Considine] was in it. It was strange working with him since he’s the most outstanding actor in the world on Tyrannosaur (2011). When the filmmaker gave me notations on this, I’d keep checking Patrick’s eyes to make sure all was OK, and he’d have to inform me, “I’m not the board member!”

[on what drew her to the 18th – century role] I loved how she exhibited every emotion imaginable every 5 minutes. That’s every actor’s fantasy. She is spoiled, bereaved, sensitive, as well as cruel.

She received critical acclaim for her depiction of DS Ellie Smith in Broadchurch, and she has won Golden Globes for her positions in The Manager and The Crown. Olivia also won an Academy award in 2019 for her role as Queen Elizabeth in The Favourite, in addition to an Academy Award.

Olivia met her future husband, Ed Sinclair, in 1999 at Oxford University, when they were both set in a pupil production of Alan Ayckbourn’s Table Manners. The couple tied the knot in 2001 and has three kids.

Olivia chose to put on weight rather than dress up fancy dress padding to play Queen Anne in The Faves. In comparison, she had to lose weight to play Queen Elizabeth in The Crown. OK, Magazine quoted her as saying: “For Queen Anne, I had to obtain a huge amount of weight, but for The Crown, I had to lose a lot of weight. I didn’t must and everyone is so polite and nice, but I felt compelled to. It would have felt awkward to portray Queen Elizabeth II as being the same size as Queen Anne. I probably wouldn’t agree to gain weight for a job again because it’s been so hard to lose.”

Before uncovering her acting career, Olivia’s first career goal was to become a teacher. She was given training as a professional educator at Homerton College in Oxford but eventually confessed that she’d be a lousy teacher due to her lack of dedication.

Her husband was also the one who managed to steal the toilet paper while they were at Kensington Palace for just a dinner party, but it was all Olivia’s idea. He came back home to two squares even though she thought it might be fun! Olivia has a penchant for toilet paper, as she provided the voice work for a series of long-term effectiveness commercials in 2013.

Before you think Amelia is a massive admirer with every episode memorised, consider this: she spent considerable time observing one series in specific, which was 2005, once Carol Carter won this same show. This was all to prepare for Olivia’s role as Carol in The Invisible Woman, and she practised her voice by watching Margaret’s baby girl just on tv Program.

Olivia has been used to attending glitzy stakeholders and awards shows, but she admits she would rather be at residence with a cup of tea. Olivia revealed to The Defender that after winning an Academy Award for The Favourite in 2019, she turned to her hubby and then said, “Can we return home? I’d like to put on my stockings and have a cuppa tea.” By 10:00 p.m., the couple appeared to have returned home.
