After working for a while as a researcher for Children’s BBC, she accepted a position as a sports presenter for a small independent radio production firm, where she covered events including the Lillehammer Winter Olympics in 1994.
Lear spent two years at LBC in London after beginning her career in 1992 as a weather presenter at Central Television.
