I've been looking forward to Weds night's gig at the Lexington but I'm wondering if reports are true that Blackbud are only playing a few songs. Is it worth what's going to be pretty hellish journey for such a short set? I haven't seen many reports of the tour. Has anyone else seen them this time around?
support from Toby Pellow, Sarah Leanne Palmer and Larsen B - interesting mix!
One plus is that parking is relatively easy, just round the corner from the lexington - I know that public transport is better, but if theres a tube strike?
Yes, there was no problem getting there as the Northern Line was running normally, thought the turn out was disappointingly low compared to, say, the Borderline or the Barfly gigs of the past. That's what comes of taking 2 years off - people forget about you. The new songs sounded great - though I'd have liked a few more of them. And Joe, can't you bring yourself to say a few more words? It's all very well letting the music speak for itself, but no mention of song titles, the fact you had a new album or even to tell people the name of the band. I know you're shy, but you've got to put yourself out there if you're to get recognition. London's a tough competitive environment and you have to shout a bit to get heard.
